Observatory Golf Club

Observatory Golf Club is the home club of Bobby Locke. He won the Open Championship Four times between 1949 and 1957 and was South Africa’s first Major Winner. It is also one of the oldest golf courses in the Johannesburg region.

The Observatory golf course has great drainage system and a sophisticated watering system that keeps the course green all year long, even in winter.

The golf course consists of narrow, tree-lined fairways, which makes accuracy highly important; as the Observatory course is not forgiving when it comes to wayward drives.

Observatory Golf Club offers both a driving range and a putting green, for golfers to practice their shots on. Golf carts and golf clubs are available to hire. A Pro shop is available at Observatory for any advice and equipment that you may need.

The Observatory clubhouse offers a restaurant and the all-important halfway house to have a nice break and refocus your game of golf.
