Silver Lakes Country Club
Silver Lakes Country Club is situated in a residential estate in Pretoria. Golf Digest has rated the Silver Lakes golf course in the top 60 golf courses. As expected by this course, water is a main feature and offers hazards to golfers.
The water feature comes into play on the 10th and 18th holes, which can be a serious cause of frustration but with no doubt a gripping challenge for the golfer. Bunkers are also not sparse on the Silver Lakes golf course as they are a common feature.
The Lakes of Silver Lakes attracts a variety of water bird nests and different bird species coupled with the indigenous vegetation that grows.
Well-trained caddies and a fleet of golf carts are available to hire and the Pro shop is well stocked with plenty of advice if needed. Golf facilities include a driving range, a putting green and a chipping facility.
The clubhouse has both a bar and a restaurant. The clubhouse is often regarded as the 19th hole, the place to stop at the end and sit back with a drink.
Silver Lakes Country Club has a golf academy that is currently running a ladies clinic that is named Chicks with Sticks. This clinic lasts for six weeks and they meet once a week. The clinic is focused on teaching ladies the fundamentals of golf and to prepare them for the Silver Lakes golf course.
First they will play nine holes and then take on all eighteen holes.
Not only does the Silver Lakes Country Club teach ladies but also juniors. This focuses on golf skill improvements on a continuous basis.
Silver Lakes Country Club offers both an on and off course experience.
